Pricing
Two fees.
Both disclosed up front.
Every case begins with a flat assessment fee. A success fee applies only if we recover access. The assessment fee is credited toward it; you do not pay both in full.
Forgotten passwords, standard BIP-39 phrases with minor gaps, common software wallet file formats.
Heavily corrupted files, significant phrase gaps, nonstandard derivation paths, multiple wallets, or cases requiring specialist tooling.
Physical hardware recovery, early-format wallets, obscure derivation schemes, or cases with large asset value requiring additional security protocols.
Institutional holdings, estate cases, multi-signature arrangements, or any case where standard tiers do not apply. Contact us directly.
There is never a third fee.
KeyHaven charges two fees: an assessment fee and, on success, a success fee. We will never ask you to pay a "release fee," "gas fee," "tax," "unlock fee," or any other charge to receive recovered assets. If someone claiming to be KeyHaven asks for such a payment, you are being impersonated. Verify every communication through the single official email address listed in the footer of this page.
Estate Access
Same fee structure as recovery. Legal entitlement verified first.
Estate and inheritance cases follow the same model as standard recovery: a flat assessment fee by tier, credited in full toward the success fee, and a success fee charged only if access is restored. We confirm legal authority to the estate before any work begins.
Assessment fee
A flat fee starting at $300, set by the complexity of the access problem, on the same tier schedule as standard recovery. Covers a full technical examination and produces a written report: probability of recovery and a formal recommendation on whether to proceed. Credited in full against the success fee if recovery succeeds.
Success fee
A percentage of the value of the assets recovered, charged only if access is successfully restored. The rate follows the same tier schedule as standard recovery: 18% at Standard, 15% at Complex, 11% at Advanced. No success fee is charged if recovery does not succeed.
See the Estate Access page for details on documentation, legal entitlement, and how we handle cases involving multiple beneficiaries.
Security Consulting
One flat fee. No success fee. No percentage of anything.
Consulting is advisory work with a fixed scope and a fixed output. It is not a recovery service: there is no success fee and no percentage involved.
Standard consultation
$500 for a focused session covering one or two specific areas: hardware wallet setup, seed phrase backup strategy, multisignature configuration, or inheritance planning. One to two hours, conducted remotely, with a written summary of recommendations delivered afterward.
Full setup or comprehensive review
Engagements covering multiple areas are scoped and quoted individually. The price reflects the additional preparation and documentation involved. No payment is taken before you have a clear description of exactly what the engagement covers.
See the Security Consulting page for a full description of what each session covers and who it is for.
Blockchain Tracing Investigation
A flat fee for a report. No success fee. Not a recovery service.
Tracing is priced differently from every other service on this page. There is one flat fee, no percentage, and no success fee. It produces a documented report of where funds moved on the blockchain. It does not recover funds and does not promise their return.
Fixed fee starting at $800
The fee depends on the complexity of the trace: the number of transaction hops, the exchanges involved, and the depth of documentation required. The deliverable is the report itself: wallet addresses, transaction IDs, and a clear record of the fund flow for use with law enforcement, an exchange compliance team, or legal counsel.
There is no success fee and no percentage charge. This is not a recovery service. Filing reports with the IC3 at ic3.gov and the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov is free and should be done first, regardless of whether you request a trace.
See the If You Were Scammed page for full guidance on what a trace can and cannot do, and to submit a tracing inquiry.
How We Accept Payment
Two payment methods only: Stripe and BitPay.
KeyHaven accepts payment for our fees through exactly two methods. Any request to pay by any other method is not from us.
Accepted methods
Stripe (card payment): we send you an official Stripe invoice by email. You pay by card through Stripe's secure checkout. We never ask for card details directly.
BitPay (cryptocurrency payment): we send you an official BitPay payment request. You pay through BitPay's checkout. We do not provide a personal wallet address and we never ask for direct cryptocurrency transfers.
Methods we will never request
Gift cards of any kind. Wire transfers to personal bank accounts. Peer to peer payment apps such as Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle. Direct cryptocurrency transfers to a wallet address we provide. Cash.
A request to pay by any of these methods is not from KeyHaven.
Any other payment request is fraud.
If anyone claiming to represent KeyHaven asks you to pay by any method other than an official Stripe invoice or BitPay checkout, do not pay. Contact us directly at cases@keyhavenrecovery.com to verify before taking any action.
A note on cryptocurrency: paying our fee in cryptocurrency through BitPay is entirely separate from the assets held in your wallet. We never take custody of, access, or control your cryptocurrency at any point in an engagement. BitPay processes the fee payment. Your wallet assets remain under your control throughout.
